Nella&Carlos

The first Afghan to melt our hearts, Tiltahaminan Dorpankukka, or as we all call her "Nella", came to Petra in 1996. Nella was (and still is...) a real afghan bitch, a mischievous, witty and lovely little sweetheart, always ready for action (...or for example snitching, running away, or just doing something FUN!!) . As a youngster, Nella was shown in a few dog shows, but she never enjoyed performing in the rings (It‘s more fun to play or run or something ELSE...Isn‘t...?) . She also participated in some lure coursing practise, boy was that fun!!

Nella was only 1 year old (in 1997) when the second Sweetheart came in to our lives. The Little Gentleman “Carlos”, Neliapilan Navajonsulka, was a chubby little baby boy with irresistible super sweet brown eyes and a lovely temperament, always ready to EAT or do anything, if afterwards rewarded with some treat. Carlos was an outstanding dog with a beautiful and silky coat, lovely and free movement, strong conformation and an easy-going character. Carlos easily became Finnish Champion in 2001 and he really loved to perform in shows (with the rewards of course...). Carlos was such a sweet boy, we are very sad that we lost him last spring (in 2008). Both Nella and Carlos are Petra’s dogs and live in Lahti with her and her husband Mika, and with their daughters Vilma 11 years, Sofia 9 years and the twins Olivia&Emilia 4years.

  The new generation

The youngest Afghan girl in our family is the super cheerful and cute little girl Hearthill Funky Lady, “Fiona” (b.2007). Fiona lives with Jenna in Kouvola. This young lady is truly an Afghan bitch with the character of a little princess!! She’s a very feminine, beautiful and lovely lady. We are really excited to see her growing up and maturing. Our little Fiona made her first appearances in the junior class this summer (in 2008), and will be shown more in the future. We’ll also take part in lure coursing in 2009. I have to say that Fiona’s granddad (Int Ch Scaramis Da Capo) is one of my all time favourite afghans in Finland. The Sire of this litter (Hearthill F-litter) is Int Ch Scaramis Hot Gossip "Kevin" (Da Capo‘s son), a very gorgeous and beautiful Afghan dog. And when I met the Dam “Samba” (Ch Hearthill Shake It Baby), I simply fell in love with her beautiful eyes and her lovely character. I’m truly delighted to see that Fiona is very much like her mom.

We are more than happy to welcome the newest puppy to our family, Sheralji Breaking The Law "Bono". This little fellow is a very happy and sweet baby boy, he loves eating and playing. Bono has just arrived in our family and we get to know each other little by little. The first moments with Bono have been really great and he has behaved like a little gentleman!!!

2009

Year 2009 has started very well, Nella (13 years 2 months) is still going strong, she enjoys the young company which keeps her vital. It would be very nice to know if any of her litter siblings are still as active as she is... :)

Bono ( 9 months) has grown quickly and he has become a gorgeous big boy, we are eagerly looking forward to see him mature. He is charming, kind and patient, a real mum's babyboy. 

On Christmas holiday we heard that Bono's litter brother "Hermanni" was looking for a new home. Because we knew Hermanni already since his puppytime and he had visited us regularly, we knew what a great boy he is. So after careful consideration we decided that there is still room for one more Afghan in our home. We are so grateful to have this promising youngster in our family! Hermanni has had no trouble in adjusting as a member of our pack. And Bono couldn't be more thrilled to have his brother as his friend. Herman is very active, clever and loves to be petted by the kids, he really loves all the attention he gets and he sure knows how to get it.  

Fiona (1 year 7 months) is maturing very nicely, she loves running and playing with the boys. She can really outrun them :) Fiona is our little princess, she is a supersweet beautiful girl!!

 

Summer 2009

Scaramis Tell Me About It "Silvia" (Am Rus Ch Regle Living Masterpiece x Int Fin S N EST LV Ch & Fin JW-05 Scaramis Like Vanilla Ice) is the newest member of our team. She is a very happy and lovely baby girl, she really loves playing and running with her "big sister" Fiona. Welcome to our family Little Silvia :)
